“Dear God, forgive them, for they know not what they say
They were tone-deaf when bomb blasts happened
When temples were destroyed for aeons they saw only loot
When Pandits were killed they were confused
Are they minority in a majority land?
They said vedics ate cow
Others asked how come not now
They said it is no big mystery
Whatever we say is the right history
Those who believed without proof superstitious
Those who disbelieved without proof rationalists?
Why insult to reason? Is that our tradition?
Should they not see their own unreason?
They know no difference between crime and commentary
Every incident they put up another conspiracy theory
They saw no sins in the past but only since a year
They know no difference between State and Center
In their tolerant idea of India
How can they tolerate plain truth?
They want others to say what they want to hear
Lest they say everybody lives in fear
Dear God, forgive them, for they know not what they say”
